a: Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7
(on the road, been traveling with nothing but a 35 on my F3 for years and didn’t miss my other lenses too much)
b: Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.8 (‘Made in Japan’)
(trusty main lens for a long-term project (m43). Already had a predecessor and the 1.4 on my OM1 & 2 back in the 80s and prefer the rendering of the older lens over that from Oly’s newer 45/1.8 by some stretch. YMMV)
Two decades after the sudden death of my trusty F3 I still sorely miss the experience of shooting slides and Tri-X with that camera. Sadly, I sold it one day, together with the Blad and all the glass except for the 28/f2 AiS … even though I don’t use that lens anymore I’ll probably never sell it.
Re. your 70-210 E, I had the 75-150 f3.5 E and loved it to bits. Oh well …
Hey, welcome! A good group, lots to learn here.
Thanks Glenn.
Trying to wrap to wrap my head around darktable these days and this looks just like the right place ![]()
It is more about learning to visualize the frame without the camera. For some people, sticking to primes makes that easier. But if you are disciplined it can be learned with zooms, too. Once the photographer has this skill, it can be used with zooms.
The people on this forum understand that there are many roads to photography and preferences can be subjective. Apparently this makes them harder to provoke ![]()
I cannot imagine a better description.
