Here’s a collection I shot in March this year. I was particularly interested in the shapes and colours of the trees after their winter slumber and before spring really took off here in British Columbia, Canada.

No, I feel the same way. I started out wanting to comment on how excellent the first one is, then as I scrolled through, all are excellent. Some even give the impression of very good paintings.
I really enjoy the last photo, the panorama the most. I like the diagonal movement, it feels very serene to me; the layers, the red/green/tan contrast. It is abstract in the thumbnail. then a nice smattering of detail of the landscape when you click into it.
I also appreciate the reds and how they glow a bit throughout most of the photos, it was something I wasn’t expecting and actually downloaded the original on a few of them so I could zoom in and have a closer look.
Its a nice set of photos and I think you’ve achieved to set out what you wanted to do.
I really enjoy in particular the first and the last one, and the two with the sun coming from behind the trees.
The first and last one just have nice layers. The first one feels very flat and hides the steepness of the hill (I assume they are on some sort of slope) like an optical illusion. The last one the sheer amount of trees gives it a soft, impressionist look.
The two with the sun behind the trees just look nice

Thanks @paperdigits! I really enjoy that photo too. I was very struck by the layers when I saw them on the mountainside. It’s a good example of where my 40MP sensor came to the rescue. I took the photo at 80mm, which is the max on this particular zoom. And even then, I had to crop in quite a lot to get the XPan crop.
And thanks @raublekick! Yes, those trees are on a steep hill, and the telephoto (80mm APS-C) gives it the flattened look. My eyes are always drawn to these 2D looks with trees. It simplifies the often chaotic mess of branches that trees often give you.
Great assortment of photos with a great variety of techniques to bring the vision to life…but I gotta say, that one with the sun breaking through the top left of the frame through the spruce trees…I can hear and smell that scene. Well done.
Excellent set! I agree with @AdamFromCanada about the shot with the rays coming from the top left. The incongruous snow on the path but not in the forest is an eye catcher. The last shot has almost a vertical ICM look to it.
