Trous Wavelets Transform and reproductibility

Siril newbie here,

I want to make a video of the rotation of Jupiter. I plan to take x movies of 1 minutes, stack them in Autostakkert and modify them in Siril with the “Trous Wavelets Transform” functionality.

of course, I would like the transform to be as stable as possible so that the movie doesn’t flicker.

I would like to know how this function behave when perform against multiple shoot from the same object.

If I apply the same parameter to different photo of the same object (but of course taken minutes appart and therefore a little bit different) would I get comparable results ?

Hello and welcome.

If you apply the wavelets on a consistent set of data, then yes. But of course, having a consistent set of data is not always an easy task. And I would recommend fixing the white balance before, too. You can do that with the color calibration tool that work great with planets like Jupiter.
