TTArtisan 6bit M-Z adapter

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone is using the TTArtisan 6 bit M-Z adapter. I am contemplating getting one for my Nikon Zf.
Looking forward to your experiences if any.

Kind regards,

Hmm, you are right… Some more information on what this adapter does for a camera like the Nikon ZF:
The ZF is able to manual focus lenses and still give the green focus confirmation boxes on eye AF and such. This reduces the need to use focus peaking and punching in to check focus. The caveat is that the manual lenses must be chipped.
TTArtisan released this adapter to fool the camera into thinking old manual lenses are chipped. This unlocks all the manual focus aids as described above for not only Leica M lenses, but you can stack the adapter with any dumb adapter, like my M42 - M adapter.

The reviews on the internet are a bit of a mixed bag and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it.

I have one of these and use it with my Zf. Works like a charm. Stacking adapters doesn’t seem to work quite as well (I tried several Nikon F to Leica M ones and all of them resulted in lenses focusing past infinity).

Thanks for your insights.

Can you tell me which problem this creates? Does it make any difference when you rely on the green confirmation boxes? Thanks in advance!

It just means you can’t rely on the distance markings on the lens and you’ll lose the close focus distance. If you can live with those limitations it’s fine.

i have one and it’s total crap, as it causes severe vigneting on Minolta 58mm 1.2, Canon 55mm 1.2. Some vigneting on 50mm 0.95 TTartisan and no vigneting on Nikon pancake 50mm 1.8 AIS, Helios 58mm 2 (basically no vigneting only on small diameter lenses). I also have Techart TZM-02, which has no vigneting and autofocus, but it’s very unreliable even on Z9. So… :frowning:
