I am new and using siril now for a coupe of times. I was still using 1.2.4, but I now see we are already in 1.2.6 (and even a beta releasing).
When I press the ‘Check for update’ button in Siril, it still says that it is up to date. Can i update the program, without needing to do a fresh 1.2.6 install?
Can you share what command you used?
As I mentioned, if I use the
flatpak install flathub org.siril.Siril
it fails to install…
Maybe I need to uninstall version 1.2.6?
OK, thanks - this still just downloaded version 1.2.6, so I completely uninstalled org.siril.Siril and then reinstalled and version 1.4.0-beta installed!
The reinstallation was a lot bigger and added 5 other packages:
ID Branch Op Remote Download
1. [✓] org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default 24.08 u flathub 63.1 MB / 155.7 MB
2. [✓] org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default 24.08extra u flathub 23.0 MB / 155.7 MB
3. [✓] org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-470-256-02 1.4 u flathub 3.7 kB / 218.0 MB
4. [✓] org.gnome.Platform.Locale 48 i flathub 18.6 kB / 387.8 MB
5. [✓] org.gnome.Platform 48 i flathub 264.5 MB / 398.4 MB
6. [✓] org.siril.Siril.Locale stable i flathub 7.2 kB / 2.5 MB
7. [✓] org.siril.Siril stable i flathub 60.6 MB / 63.3 MB
So in my case a full uninstall is required before updating.
Thanks all for help - I’m just starting out with siril and finding it very capable (even with just a DSLR and equatorial mount - no scope)
