Perhaps the title is a bit silly. I wanted to share these three photographs that I processed a bit more than my usual standards. The urban landscapes are from Rome, and I wanted to enhance the clouds and preserve the high contrasts in light:
This was taken in the Dolomites (Val di Fiemme), I wanted to boost the autumn colors (the sky was a bit flat so overall this is a forgettable shot, but it was a good experiment to try and work with multiple instances of colorbalance rgb):
I for one was definitely attracted to play with these images!
In GIMP. I tried to stay with the theme of high contrast, while attempting to bring out detail in the darkest parts. Increases of local contrast in most “zones” of all three.
Another approach. High contrast images are often great for b&w conversion. Just b&w transform plus some minor adjustments (sharpening, local contrast, exposure).
