I for one was definitely attracted to play with these images!
In GIMP. I tried to stay with the theme of high contrast, while attempting to bring out detail in the darkest parts. Increases of local contrast in most “zones” of all three.

Another approach. High contrast images are often great for b&w conversion. Just b&w transform plus some minor adjustments (sharpening, local contrast, exposure).

…and this too! sharper (I need to dig into your xmp to see what you did) and you nailed the trees in terms of color, thanks! Did you use dt 3.8?

(I’ve also enjoyed the b/w versions)
