Version 1.24.2 - Profiled lens correction

Hi,
I installed the new version 1.24.2 / Win 11 and detected that the “Profiled Lens Correction” no longer offers the option “embedded in metadata”.
This function works fine in version 1.24.1 with all my Sony / Tamron devices.
Do I need to activate this option or is it a bug?

Hi,
I confirm I can reproduce the problem. I’ll look into it, thanks!

The problem seems to be Exiftool. I downloaded and installed version 13.00 of it and it shows embedded in metadata.

Confirmed. Indeed, there seems to be something strange with the latest version of exiftool for windows. It would be great to report this upstream. In the meantime, I’ll try to rebuild the package with version 13.00.

Thanks for the help!

There we quite a few changes to Windows packaging and command line/path handling recently.

Hmm, indeed they seem to be related. Thanks!

Can you see if this version works?

Hi Alberto,
I checked your new version and it works perfect!
Really good to see your response regarding this issue :grinning:

I also tried it out. I worked fine with the file I used: a Sigma lens on a Sony a7R IV. I don’t have a Sony, but I tried a Sigma lens which was ‘tested’ on a Sony camera on DPReview.

I have mentioned this problem at the Exiftool forum:

With Exiftool version 13.06 used with ART the option “embedded in metadata” still works for Sony files. The moderator at the Exiftool forum suggested:

The only real change between those versions is the -API WindowsLongPath option. If you can change the options used, try adding -api WindowsLongPath=0

I hope this makes sense to you (and your great programme).

P.S.: The problem starts with Exiftool 13.07 for Sony files if I remember rightly.
