Thanks a lot to the devs for this new version. The Color Equalizer is terrific and the new Composite/Overlay module can be used very creatively.
Question: has the maximum width of the side panels in lighttable and darkroom been restricted to a certain size? In 4.6 I could drag a panel almost over the whole screen, now it blocks at a certain width and the maximum seems a bit small.
OK I see. I didn’t experience this issue with a very wide window.
Has this been limited to a certain pixel width? I just noticed that on my laptop with a full HD screen I can still adjust to more than half the screen whilst on the desktop (4K) the width is limited and a bit small. So something strange with my desktop, but this is maybe a subject for another topic.
Too limited for a 4K screen… imho
Also the max height of the histogram and some other vertical scalable windows are too limited to.
Any way to override?
600 px with feels right to me for 4K screeens.
Tried to find a setting for window heights (especially histogram bu maybe some resizable windows in other modules to, but no luck so far. Is there any?
I’ve put the max width to 800. This gives me enough room to play with, although I may not leave it always at the max. The only issue is now the height of the histogram on a desktop install with a 4K screen. Particularly the vectorscope view is a bit too small.
I’ve noticed though that with my two other installs on laptops, one with a full HD and the other with a 4K (3840x2400, 16 inch) monitor, I can widen the side panel over more than half of the screen and the histogram height is also OK without tweaking darktablerc. The issue occurs only on the desktop (4096x2160). Maybe some local setting, but what?
Yes, I was certainly not clear. The current max is 1500 px, the value I quoted above is possibly current side panel value as written by previous version of darktable. You can just remove the line in darktablerc or put it to 1500 (new max).
