Waterfall in the Forest

I don’t share pictures often, mostly because I can’t share family pictures. But every once in a while, I do stumble upon a nice landscape that might be fun to play with, so here you go:

I’m especially happy about that water spray at the top of the frame. A happy accident.

I tried to bring out the water but found it tricky!

My masks could do with some refinement, but I ran out of time on this one. Thanks for the play!

Tried to make the most of the depth and atmosphere, hence cropped out the distracting sky light. Also tried to minimize / mask the prominent flare ‘bean’ right above the waterfall.

Looking at it now on my phone, I naturally see a mistake I made… Didn’t notice it on my computer (too tired, probably).

I couldn’t do a lot to make this brilliant shot better. I liked the bluish water so put a blue hue over it all - in Gimp

dang, my X-T20 would have purple grid with that flare

The 16-80/4 is quite decent, the corners don’t look too soft. But the Tamron 17-70/2.8 pairs well with the 50-140/2.8 for events, the Tamron itself is a very decent single travel lens, too.

Here’s another attempt, with the issue corrected and a few other tweaks. I like this one better.
