What affect does RAM speed have RawTherapee

I have Windows machine with an i7 13700 that had 16Gb of RAM running at 3200 MT/s. I recently upgraded to 32Gb of RAM with what I thought was 3200 MT/s. When I installed it, it was only running at 2133 MT/s. I contacted my computer OEM’s tech support and they said they my motherboard does not have XMP, and the RAM I got is only rated 3200 with XMP.

So my question is, how much am I losing by running at the lower speed? My biggest concern is RawTherapee.

Probably not as much as you think. In my experience RawTherapee struggles to saturate memory bandwidth (even though the underlying operations are certainly bandwidth limited as implemented).

Regards, Freddie.
