Not exactly what Iām listening to but what I saw at the Barbican Library free exhibition on the history of Black Music in London, from jazz to calypso, reggae to dubstep, pop to grime.
Iāve been stuck in the early 70s and lamenting the recent deaths of Sly Stone and Brian Wilson.
Sly and the Family Stoneās āThereās a Riot Goinā Onā, The Beach Boys āSurfās Upā and āHollandā, and just because it fits the current climate here in the US, Marvin Gayeās āWhatās Going Onā. But also listening to The Who and other rock bands from the time.
Well, thatās only one part of what i listen to. Iām a (rock/metal) music CD addict, where they come from doesnāt really matter as long as I enjoy the music.
The song iāve listened to the most in my life would surely be Wasted Time by Skid Row. Still listen to it regularly more than 30 years later.
Itās from a soundtrack for a relatively new game called Sonic Frontiers (Sonic the hedgehog). I donāt actually know almost anything about the game ā I came across this song in a completely different YouTube playthrough series.
In that case, lucky for me that I listened to an audio only release
Undefeatable is a rare occurrence of rock/metal in my playlist though and while I often like some rock songs, I donāt listen to them, rather stuff like these (What are you listening to? - #10 by Pizzacutter)
Oh i played Sonic 1 & 2 on Genesis back in the early 90s. Never thought Iād hear this kind of music in a Sonic game though haha.
I also listen to some game ost pretty often, like Silent Hill ( Akira Yamaoka) and Shin Megami Tensei, Persona ( Shoji Meguroās tracks).
