What focal length (based on full frame) could that be?
I have a 17mm and to me this image looks quite a bit wider. Guesses are very welcome!

The amount of stretch (people on the edges) suggests something around 12â14mm.
If I had to guess, I would say 12mm because thatâs a focal length a lot of manufacturers make.
No information in the metadata, not even camera make, which might allow some kind of inference.
If it was a Nikon, then I would guess the 14-24 fisheye.
The colour isnât right, but the photograph seems to be of the Midland Hotel in Manchester, taken from somewhere near the Bridgewater Hall.
I just meant roughly the focal mm, not lens/cam make. I like that width and distortion.
And itâs Paradeplatz in ZĂźrich, the (soon to be renamed) Credit Suisse Bank building.
I am looking into affordable ultra-wide lenses for Sony EF. Problem isnât finding ultra-wide, problem is the affordable.
It has an horizontal angle of view of about 112°.
That should be something like 10mm, but this needs some more research.
And the UBS building on the left. ![]()
Did you know that the place used to be called âPig marketâ? Wikipedia: Paradeplatz - Wikipedia
During the 17th century, it served as a livestock market, known as Säumärt (âpig marketâ), renamed to Neumarkt (ânew marketâ) in 1819 and finally to its current name following the construction of Bahnhofstrasse (1865).
10mm sounds very plausible. I might have a closer look at the Laowa 9mm f5.6, not cheap though.
@st.raw
How about the 7Artisans brand?
Some of their lenses sound very promising.
Have fun!

This one and never complain again about not enough angle:
â225° field of viewâ â thatâs about as close as you can come to having eyes in the back of your head!
âŚthey have a Canon EF to Nikon Z adapter, the fastest way to stir up any camera club meeting.
I have a Sony A7rii (full frame), actually I did had the 9mm Laowa APS-C before but didnât like the format on a FF.
Anyway, 7Artisan have a 10mm FF lens for $256 list price. I will check some reviews.
Might be something like this - Samyang AF 14mm F2.8
Angle of view 113.9° according to data sheet. Older version with manual operation, newer with AF and automatic aperture.
I do not own or have tried it, came on it through some blog just yesterday.
Do we know it is a prime?
Iâll come back to my Nikon 14-24, which has a maximum angle of view of 114°.
But is this value horizontal, diagonal or image circle?
14mm is 114° diagonal, according to this table, and 105° horizontal. A horizontal 112° would need a 10mm as you noted above.
