I want to translate the UI of GIMP. So, I want to know the real meaning of “color stop” when using gradient tool.
With dictionary, I think color stop should mean a bus stop or a stop of a journey. So, should I translate “color stop” to anything like a bus stop?
It’s the point at which a color along the gradient starts or stops. So not unlike a bus stop in that regard.

But there’s one thing that bothers me:
Can color stop be translated something like “color station” ？
In Chinese(zh_CN), station is very different with “stop”.
I guess so yes. If there’s something like “transition point” or “point of change” that would also be valid.
In Chinese, “transition point” or “point of change” would be a little complicated and has a lot of words.
Can I interpret color stop as “boundary mark” or “boundary monument” ?
So I can translate color stop like “color mark”.
Yes, color mark/boundary mark/color boundary mark would be good.
