When I rotate a text block in GIMP 2.10.34, it disappears as if another layer is covering it. Although I can see glimpses of the text while rotating, it ultimately disappears. What am I doing wrong?

This said, when it comes to text, rotating the text will blur its edges a bit. If you want to keep the text sharp, get a path form the text (Layer > Text to path), and use the Transform: path option in the transform tool (rotate, scale, UT…) to transform the path, and then render the transformed path (stroke or fill).
