Where do set up image prints in darktable for Gimp

I cannot find any information either in the Users guide or videos for what I am about to ask.

I’m using darktable on Windows 8.1. Obviously I cannot print directly from darktable using Windows, so I would like to print using Gimp. My question is where is it better to resize and set up images for printing? Do I still do that it darktable and when I export an image, those settings will be usable in Gimp, or do I do all of the resizing, setting up etc just in Gimp after I import an image from darktable?

I’m starting to use darktable after using Lightroom, but in Lightroom you could do all you needed to in that one program in order to print.

Its probably easier in gimp, as you can set the DPI. But you can do it in either app.
