Hello,
for me the white balance with ART in Auto is usually much too cold.
Here are two different versions:
WB-ART-Auto
and
WB-AWB in camera PS529416_AWB-5400.RW2 (31.5 MB) WB.RW2.arp (47.8 KB)
Hello @agriggio
Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, my camera’s AWB is only good sometimes, I often have to make manual adjustments, especially in mixed light. That’s why a good AWB would sometimes be very helpful in RAW development.
Unfortunately, this is often not so easy with portraits.
Could you try to improve the Hue-Saturation vectorscope a little?
Hello @agriggio
Would it be possible to include the WB tool “Automatic & Refinement - Temperature correlation” in ART, as RT has it?
Surely you had a reason not to do it. But it sometimes helps quite well with the WB, if you have recorded with the wrong WB. This tool is almost as good as the WB of the camera.
It’s definitely possible in principle, I don’t see why not. But I don’t understand the algorithm, and I don’t have the time to properly study it, so I can’t (and won’t) do the porting, sorry.
I can understand your argument. ART is probably so good precisely because you only do what you fully understand.
This “Automatic & Refinement - Temperature correlation” is surprisingly good - but when I’m working with the camera’s AWB, I don’t really need this function.
Perhaps you could make the dashed I-line mentioned above a little more clearly visible in ART, which would also be a good help in finding the standard skin tone more easily.
