If you look in the top icons, you’ll see the brightness going down. I just downloaded rawtherapee 5.7 as my old version was doing the same thing. I’m on a windows 10 64 bit. Let me know please! I’ve never had this issue before. Do you mean the difference between the embedded jpeg thumbnail and when you open the picture to actually see the raw file?
I didn’t actually see any autocorrection happening

Having said that, your RawTherapee is not using good defaults, probably because you upgraded from an older version, so find and delete your options
file (RawTherapee must be closed as you do this):
