Wide angle distortion

I have recently bought a Panasonic 7-14mm. The Olympus one is too bulky for my use and while it’s a better lens size matters to me.

I took a silly test shot in the living room to look at the distortion. RT’s auto with a touch of manual adjustment fixed it easily but there is still an obvious distortion effect. I wonder if there is any way of correcting that.

 Living room is a “bit” untidy. Just bought a new hose pipe, am in the middle of fitting a new fire place plus a new kitchen. The kitchen is interfering with my workshop so a couple of bits from that are in there too.

Distortion is an aberration from an ideal projection. In this case you’re using a rectilinear projection and trying to show a very wide field of view, which makes it looked stretched, but that is not a distortion. What you’re asking for is a way to change the projection, a way to re-project the image from rectilinear to something which looks less stretched. That’s something you could use Hugin for.
