Wine and Adobe DNG

I’m probably going to get my wrist slapped because it’s only half open source…

Has anyone any experience of using Wine (Open source) with Adobe DNG (not open source)… I installed it firstly to get the .dcp’s for my cameras (for use in RT) and I’d like to try using some .dng’s to see if it improves the experience of RT (particularly colour balance which is way out).

According to rawpedia, it’s supposed to work under WIne, but it doesn’t… I did manage to recuperate the .dcp’s, which does help.

It works for me, I am running Adobe DNG Converter 15.3.1.1455 with wine 8.13 on Arch Linux.

I installed version 15.0 it on (x)ubuntu and it tells be it’s missing a component - “/win32/adobe.exe” - whether it’s a component from adobe itself or one the Wine team compiles I don’t know, but it ain’t there.

Do you use it for further processing in RT? And does it give better results? I find RT almost invariably overcooks the green and underestimates the colour temperature and I’m getting bored with fiddling around to even get in the ball park balancing the colours.

I’ve had some joy using the Adobe dcp’s, but I’d like to see if introducing a conversion to .dng into the workflow would help.
