As Sirilic creates a lot of intermediate files it would be a good idea to have the option to delete these so you are only left with the final stacked images & the input files. The option to delete temporary files doesnt remove all of them.
It maybe a good idea to provide a preference item where we can tick a box to delete these automatically on successful completion of stacking.
As sirilic uses siril as processing engine, it cannot do it by itself.
And about siril : Siril - FAQ
As sirilic already has an option to delete temporary files I was hoping this could be expanded to delete the intermediate ones as well.
I understand the reasoning behind the intermediate files. It’s just that after successful stacking they are not of much use for me personally as I tend to run sirilic again to reprocess. Hence I am asking for an option in sirilic to choose to delete them.

Probably @M27trogonondepomme, author of Sirilic, will explain better than me.
in a future version, I could add an option to keep only the final result.
Hello
@M27trogonondepomme : I was expecting exactly the same feature from Sirilic.
Gone to Deletion of intermediate files once they're no longer needed (#21) · Issues · FA / SiriLic · GitLab but the ticket is closed (dated from one year ago, so a few month after the last answer on this topic)
Need would be an option allowing Sirilic to :
- Use File A to Create B
- Delete File A
Logic presented in the Siril FAQ is understandable but this does not have to be done in a batch / bulk mode nor be systematic. It can be done file by file within the Siril processing logic (after all it creates and uses file A, why not delete it ?)
I do not know what is the inside mechanics of both Siril and Sirilic but I guess that one of both can provide such optionnal feature.
Would appreciate the feature (and seems I would not be the only one )
