Would like to see an option to import/view photos located in zip files

What is your goal? Why not unzip the archive first? Into what program do you want to import?
You are minus some information regarding what os you are using. That said, most file managers these days can “view the contents” inside zip files you may be able to import from there. That would be a separate operation, not as smooth as you might be looking for. Give us a few more details of you system.
