Had a go at the retinex tool lately, and damn is that tool powerful!
Not intuitive, but powerful.
I tried brightening underexposed areas and it works wonders, after clicking around like a blind man for half an hour.
What situations would you recommend it for? The author says it’s not for well-shot photos but is intended more for pulling detail out of underexposures. Does he mean portraits?
I am also wondering if there is a concomitant increase in noise or chromatic aberration?
