I’m processing the photo of this dog.
Auto matched tone curve and I get a black dog

Hand-made with the curves and the black is blueish. I realize that my exposure in the 2nd one is not the same, but Ishouldn’t have the colour tinge.

What am I doing wrong?
BTW as you can see at the bottom of the 1st image, the monitor is calibrated.

I don’t think it’s a color cast, looks more like a difference in contrast. Your hand curve is probably flatter than the auto-match.

Use the colour sampler to investigate. In both your images, R ≤ G ≤ B in the shadows but only slightly. It is likely the cast is more noticeable when the contrast is low.

Note that I inspected your png
s via another sampler tool. RT’s looks like this:
