Yellow-crowned sparrow. Pt Reyes Feb 2016
I’m really starting to like Darktable. Nikon D7000, Tamron 150-600mm, monopod, Darktable and Gimp. I still have a long way to go. But I’m getting there.
The default base curve for my camera (ND7000) hasn’t been working well for me (way too light on the upper end) so I made my own. Which helped a lot. I see now I did sharpening on what should have been an out-of-focus fuzzy background, which made it annoyingly grainy. Next time I’ll use the mask, and sharpen only the bird.
