Zooming and panning

Is there any way to set a shortcut that would zoom to 50% within the darkroom?

Is there any way to use the scroll pad on a laptop to pan within a zoomed image instead of changing the zoom? I know I can do so by clicking the scroll pad and dragging but I’d rather do it as in Lightroom i.e. just scroll about to pan.

Also, when in the darkroom view I’d like the default action for the mouse cursor to be zoom, again similar to Lightroom - single click to zoom to 100% at the area under the cursor and single click again to zoom out.

Thanks

Its currently mapped to middle click…one press 100 press again 200 press a third time back to preview. If you hold down the h key at any time you can see the current mappings for that view. In preferences you can map both static and dynamic keys…for example hold the E key and scroll wheel will adjust exposure no matter what module you are in …so there is a lot of flexibility you just have to poke around. IMO trackpad editing sucks I hate those things…

EDIT…

I just looked this up…not sure if you knew it or if it works on your laptop…ie use 3 fingers to middle click…https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26552/stupid-geek-tricks-use-both-laptop-mouse-buttons-to-simulate-middle-click/#:~:text=To%20do%20so%2C%20head%20to,open%20Cortana%20on%20Windows%2010.

You can change the zoom:

  • using the mouse: darktable 3.4 user manual - overview
  • Press H on the darktable view, it will display shortcuts, including Alt+1,2,3 and Ctrl + and - (for me, Alt+1 does not work, maybe there’s a conflict with KDE). You can modify them in preferences.

Alt 1 seems to work on Windows sort of …it will got to 100 and then 200 but not back to fit as it does with the mouse…

How would you set these to a %…do you have to define fit, fill etc…
