Superb, as always
Very nice work technically on the Nick Cave concert photo (26.6)
Love the Kiasma architecture (27.6)
The dogs are both heart-warming. So, how did MacGyver come by his name? (I can’t imagine a dog wielding a Victorinox swiss knife!!!)

Helsinki Music Hall has balconies all over the stage and lights in that concert photo caught my eye. It was taken with pretty old iPhone 11. Kiasma is museum of modern art and its architecture is also some kind of modern art. About MacGyver, friends showed their kid that old show and it was instant hit for a teen and then they let that kid to nane their new dog, so McGyver comes from there. Another kid got to name Gabrielle and Xena is behind that name

This small bird left from the nest just when it started to rain. It stayed on that rock many hours and got fed there.

Migrated finally my old Win10 desktop to Linux. These are first images edited on that one and I only used darktable. Many of the previous were run through Canon DPP and Neuralnet tool and tiff produced from there was then edited in darktable.

Didn’t get colors and noise for this quickly enough with darktable only, so run this through Canon NNIP.

Wife owns a few hectare of forest which have been restored for nature years ago. Woodpeckers have made eyes for this old tree which have been sacrificed for nature restoration.

When you go to sauna and get some crazy idea :grinning:. I think that almost every culture where there is some water there is a local variant of Vetehinen.

Sorry for long delay posting here. Had too much to do in last few weeks and was also bit sick. At last I also installed Debian on my main desktop computer, so these are edited on that one. I’m not yet sure if my display profile is correctly calibrated, so I hope that colours are not too much off.

Was bit sick this day and got an idea. Not sure if it was good or bad, but I must admit that I had fun planning and doing this one. And no wine in a glass, it’s blueberry juice.

Love all the green stuff in the couple of latest posts. Nice representation of the Finnish summer  It’s been delightful to follow your project. Kudos for keeping the pictures coming. I also did a similar thing but just for a couple of months.

Caesar! Love it!
(Slight quibble: Caesar wore a wristwatch?)
Glad that sickness hasn’t prevented keeping up the project.
You are really capturing EVERY day, right?
Nearly 2/3 of the way through the year, now. Let us be your marathon cheerers.

Thanks! It’s been still fun doing this.

Thanks for comments and cheering!

That wristwatch was there on purpose and I positioned it so that flash lighted from it like that  Maybe Caesar was time traveller, or some time traveller lost his watch and he wore it? There are endless possibilities for that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: It took me about 20 tries with 10s self timer to get this one. I used iPad to see that I had correct pose and then put it down and waited for shot.

And yes, I have taken photos every day. Some days I have got 200-300 photos and some days only 2 or 3. That is the reason why there are quite many not so good ones, but still I’m very happy how good images some of these are (for my kind of hobbyist) :D.

Currently darktable tells me, that I have 10 878 images taken in 2024. Last time I did this kind of project was 2017 and for that year I have 13 952 images still in my catalogue, so this year I will beat that easily. I have not culled these as well as I should have, so there are quite a lot of trash or near duplicates in those numbers.

21.8.2024 - Pole
Doctor didn’t find anything concerning and last few days I have been feeling much better. So today I went for slow speed mountain binging (with help of electricity). Unfortunately Pole Bicycles went for bankruptcy and if they don’t find more money somewhere, no more bikes like this :frowning:

Työharjoittelu, poliittisesti korrekti synonyymi orjatyölle

In Finland, unemployed people need to take almost any internship, if its offered to them and employer doesn’t need to even have to pay decent salary for the work. So some local artist painting electrical cabinets painted some of his/her frustration to this cabin. Freely translates as:

Internship, a politically correct synonym for slave labor

So true. In BC (British Columbia) it used to be the norm that employers would reject candidate employees because of the lack of BC experience. So newcomers and even students had to take internship to gain BC experience. Students going out of school into the labor force used to be offered a lower wage (because they are new to the labor force) so - no BC experience, no labor experience. The artist expressed it very well.

Lazy photo for this day. Was too tired after work, so simple capture from the garden and some colour boosting with darktable.

So is 26.08 lichen/moss on rocks?
Could one name the continent leichenepetria?

Yes, it was some sort of algae/lichen/moss which lives under the water. Rocks are on water and in last few days water level has dropped. Some of it was still green while part of it was already turning yellow. I used also circular polariser to control reflections on the water and then darkened it little bit in darktable. When I saw these rocks it looked to me like I was looking some sort of continent from space.
