Thank you. I just moved to Darktable a few months ago and have been busy reprocessing many of my photos. Can’t believe how powerful the program is.
A great photo that I think lends itself to a fairly dramatic rendering. Thanks for sharing.
I immediately knew when first editing this yesterday that I would keep at it and post a second version soon.
This one I developed as two layers in RT5.10, one as a base layer for the overall image (where I further shifted the WB up from the very blue camera value and increased the contrasts) and one exposed for the rocks.
Then I blended the rocks from the brighter layer into the base layer with GIMP to bring back some texture to the rocks. Not a very sophisticated edit but imho this could well serve as a way marker for any further edits I’d do.
I love the cooler bluish mood of the original very much. SO my first try is keeping it.
