Picture taken with a7cii + converted nikkor 50mm 1.8 AI (loving this lens)
We had grey bad weather during my vacation. I took pictures feeling like the results will probably turn out grey and dull. But moving the saturation slider in agx proved to be a very effective way of bringing some much needed color to the otherwise grey scene. I really like the final result. Interested what you all can get out from this grey scene.
My play.
+1EV in Filmulator then into GIMP.
I used my Equal Luminosity Mask plug-in to adjust contrast and brightness in various parts of the image and then my Saturation H M L plug-in to adjust the saturation in it’s high and medium masked layers.
That is why I am staying with GIMP 2.10 - I do not want to lose my plug-ins!
Liked my 50/1.8 as well, + the 1.4 and the rest of my MF Nikkors but unfortunately sold them all long ago, except for the 28/2
(Still running around with a 50/1.8 Zuiko (MiJ) on my EM-1, loving that tiny lens to bits).
I really like the lens so much! Wide open it softens up a bit but I actually like the dreamy effect it brings.
Find it hard to put back my Tamron 28-75. Actually planning on buying the nikkor 35/2 and in general I want to look more into vintage lenses.
I thought at first that focusing will be a big issue with the a7cii’s small viewfinder but actually it’s quite easy with the magnifier (wide open) or simply zone focusing (stopped down to f/5.6)
I’ve been traveling w. the 35/2 on my F3 for years and had a love/hate relationship with that lens, especially with strong light sources in the frame. At one point I switched to the 28/2 AiS (larger and heavier), just love the rendering, been one of my fav. MF lenses ever since.
Sorry for the rant, back OT
Popsys styling. I dont love it on this photo, but erasing the cloud sturcture does give a different look. I think it may still need more contrast in the mids/lows to really get the look. But I am not sure
