Building against a pink sunset

I have not uploaded a PlayRaw in a while.
This is a building a few minutes’ walk from us. I’ve photographed it multiple times; it caught my eye again yesterday evening. Here are the in-camera JPG and the raw file for you to play:

The colours were more blue and pink, rather than the purples shown by the camera. As always, feel free to go for a realistic or a moody rendition, and have fun playing!

O boy, pretty hard to not go overboard with the colors… can’t help it :man_shrugging:

Suit yourself, pull out all the stops.

You actually managed to keep the detail at the brightest part, just above the bushes. I’ll have another go later.

I like especially the warm light in the tower. It’s a nice picture, I like it :+1:

For me when I see the photo, what I see is the sky, the detailed outline of the trees against the sky, that lovely iron details on the roofline and the lit window… @Jean-Marc_Digne showed what can be pulled out because its a raw file but I found nothing too interesting in there (not criticizing
the edit in any way) and it takes up 2/3 of the photo and presents lots of visual distraction from the main elements that draw my eye… So I did a very quick edit with a crop and keeping much of the image dark to try and give those elements full attention and contrast…

So, inspired by your version:

Forgot the sidecar, but the stack is embedded in the JPG.

An interesting sunset shot. My attempt using DT 4.4.2

Quite a lot of texture within the sky… just what to do about it?

My attempt with dt 4.4.2. I hope I didn’t go too much overboard with the pinks and blues.

Mine’s a little like @priort’s but more pink…
Slight fairy tale vibes perhaps…

Having not been there I don’t know how it really looked but I went for a post-sunset glow interpretation. I (very) slightly blued the dark greens to further cool them. This image seemed to respond well to both light NR and minor deconvolution sharpening to offset some of the inherent process blurring.

Daylight WB, a bit of tone EQ, and the new, AgX-like mode of sigmoid (using the ‘smooth’ preset) that was merged last night:

A beautiful photo that invites many different interpretations.
I decided to keep the foreground fairly dark, slightly emphasise the illuminated windows and increase the saturation in the sky. All done in GIMP.
