I need help!
I can’t open SONY α7SⅢ RAW images in darktable and RawTherapee.
I could open α7Ⅲ RAW images without errors so maybe it’s because of version of something… I don’t know tho!
My PC’s OS is windows10.
Does anyone know what’s wrong???
Sorry for my poor English coz I’m a Japanese lol
I’ll appreciate if someone helps me, thanks.
Arigato @so2019 -san for your question. Could you try opening your image using a nightly build? See Release Automated Builds · Beep6581/RawTherapee · GitHub Just open the zip named RawTherapee_dev_5.8(...)_win64.zip
and extract this to a new folder and run RawTherapee from there.
For darktable you can also try some recent development builds like this one:
(Use for testing only obviously. Stable darktable 3.6 should be coming soon.)
Are you using the new lossless compressed RAW capability (new in A1 and A7S3)?
That is a new format and isn’t supported yet by anyone to my knowledge.
RT already has a bug open for this - Sony A1 lossless compressed files not supported · Issue #6226 · Beep6581/RawTherapee · GitHub
For the time being, workarounds are:
Adobe DNG Converter
or
Set the camera to use lossy compressed raw or uncompressed raw
Thank you for your quick answers!
I tried updating software and dev builds but did’t work…
So I converted RAW files to DNG files and finally I could open them!
Thank you all, arigato
In the meantime, you might want to switch to uncompressed (or lossy compressed) mode as @Entropy512 pointed out.
