I’ve watched three chanterelle identification YouTube videos now but still a little nervous
They can hardly be confused with poisonous mushrooms. (At least in Germany). I harvest lots of them! I’d like to say: Don’t worry - eat happy!
"All Fungi are edible. Some fungi are only edible once.”

That’s one of the few mushrooms for which I know they are classified as “Comestibility: unknown” :
no one can get themselves to try it, it’s “perfume” is not pleasant… (and it’s getting more and more common here in Europe, listed as an invasive species)
my book on mushrooms says: “it’s not poisonous , but one doesn’t have to eat everything”

I worked on a photo charter on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, managed to take a few pictures between wrangling folk on and off the train.
Okay, the first one isn’t actually the charter, just the twilight arrival of the train with some of the cars we’d use the next day. The bright headlight behind the train is the fire patrol speeder:
Engine emerging from Rock Tunnel, on the shelf overlooking Toltec Gorge. For a lot of folk, this single shot is worth the entire fare.
View from the train:
Headed down the oh-so-aptly-named Gravity Hill, in the high desert of the San Luis Valley:
