Very interesting picture! Something is particular interesting: if I look at the small version of it, it feels like something is missing on top and that the hills are almost cut off.
However, when I open it in the large view, this impression is gone and everything feels right. Not sure why that is, but I had a hard time looking at the small version
I experienced the same!
Apart from the composition, which is splendid, I admire the colours and their clarity. Did you use any filters or something?
No filters used, I did warm up the white balance a bit in processing and as far as clarity I tried very hard to ensure the photo was in focus by using my focus magnifier function, and then set a timer for the exposure.
@reox and @kofa it may be the crop ratio that makes it seem slightly out of placeâŚI think I chose Golden cut, and seeing that ratio may have something to do with it.
Thank you all for the feedback.
My photography club was lucky enough to get access to Culross Abbey on Tuesday evening for a photo shoot.
So here is my arty farty take on the organ pipes!
Lovely b/w processing, @Brian_Innes !
Autumn, sort ofâŚ
My wife and I spent the weekend in the Ouachita (pronounced âwash-ih-tawâ) Mountains area of western central Arkansas. The first day it rained / misted, the second day it was cloudy and the third day it turned brutally clear. Then on the fourth day we came home.
These were all processed in ART (with an occasional bit of inpainting in Affinity Photo).

Not really a good photo, but a âpano-snapshotâ of the view from the picnic area near our cabin.
There are higher / âbiggerâ vistas in the area, this was just basically a view across the road from a moderate hill.
Of course on the clear day, while looking for photo ops I was a few miles down a gravel road and noticed my right rear tire was 13 lbs down from where it had been minutes earlier. Yikes! I managed to make it back to the (slightly more) main highway and use the lot of a closed gas station / restaurant to change the tire. At least it was a beautiful day. Apparently a sharp rock punctured it (Iâm just about done with Goodyear) and it was successfully plugged the morning we left. It held pressure for 350 miles home and is still OK, so I guess Iâm good now. Time to find some more gravel roadsâŚ
Beautiful!
Where is it?
Great work!
I would never guess that this is the original. The BW processing is beautiful!
Thank you. Itâs an area known as the Lac Du Bois Grasslands in Kamloops, BC.
Thank you! Looks like there are a few interesting places around Kamloops.
Very Lynchian
May the Schwartz be with you!
In regards of spotting Kingfishers: Me too.
Meanwhile Iâve seen literally hundreds of them around river Main (Germany). No chance to get one in front of a lens.
