Sigma Macro 105mm shot of some of the last flowers that can be seen before winter around here.
Been playing with high ISO after reading some articles and watch some vids about “don’t fear the high ISO” theme. Took my camera when I walked to the store yesterday and managed a few captures plus one from an earlier trip to a nearby pond.

Love the squirrel!
Thank you.
Sorry, hate the squirrel, it is one of those nasty grey ones. Proper squirrels are red.
Colin, I agree with you ecologically.
My comment was meant photographically, and also because I have only once seen squirrels with my own eyes and my capture attempts with short glass and low light left me disappointed.
I was at a “star party” (astronomy event) in southern Mississippi last week and one morning there was a nice sunrise – Under clouds but over mist. It was quick and I didn’t have time to look around for other shots. After a moment, it was gone.

It’ time for my annual mushroom post, could not decide which composition and angel i like best, so you got them all
One day soon enough I’ll put enough words to thoughts and begin asking questions, or discuss what I think darktable actually does…
But…
Until then…More pictures
More recent photos from work trips…I’ve been on the road way too much for a simple carpenter lately and I do hope it comes to an end before too much snow begins to accumulate in our region.
All photos edited in various Dt 4.x versions, and I’ve been trying to start my colour balancing with a much lower saturation level and a negative global chroma value. I don’t actually know where exactly that helps further down the pipeline, but I think it has.
It’s hard for me to say because I’ve been improving my processing a bit, but I’ve also gone through two camera changes in the same period.
Very nice compositions!
Thanks Glenn, I appreciate it. I’ve been trying to take less photos than normal due to time constraints, and it’s helped me try to compose a bit more purposefully. Heavy cropping is also helping
Love the foggy one and the colors oft the other two takes. Nice pictures
The Cabin In The Woods?
I headed out this morning to a new location in a region I’ve been waiting to get back to since August.
I found yet another sunken fence in this small body of water while trying to get a hillside photo, and got in as far as my muck boots would allow.
I can’t wait to see this place again in the deep of winter.
