[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

How do you know that DT colors are more true? In my experience with Nikon Z6 and Sony A7IV DT usually gives (slightly) wrong colors compared to original/OOC Jpegs/ART/RT.

I didn’t say that. In this example, the JPEG is quite a bit shifted, but I think (for my camera, at least) that around 50-70% hue preservation is the most realistic.

How do you know which of the two is shifted? Quite likely both are different from the “real” colours, looking at the sky rendering…

Made it out to a local lake and river. There wasn’t as much mist as I’d hoped but it was still a great day of taking pictures.
So far these are the only two edits I’ve liked of the bunch I’ve done.

They are also the two that I like  - very nice!

Been way too long since I’ve been out taking pictures, more than a years hiatus now. Yesterday the weather was incredible, so I grabbed the camera and decided to explore the area we just moved to. Found a tree, took a picture, and just sat there in the snow for several minutes enjoying the view and the intense warmth of the sun.
Looking forward to explore this area more.

Like the symmetry, the shooting into the sun and the shadow bigger than the object.

Hi,

Beautiful image. It reminds me of Teiji Saga, a Japanese photographer. I have a very old issue of a French magazine “Douple page”, which shows some of his photographs taken in Siberia. His book “Wild Swans” is unavailable.

Thanks for posting this. The photo is great, but I think I enjoyed your description at least as much:

Too excited not to share this… I’ve taken this pic before, but last time it was handheld. Tonight I was able to get there before the moon rose and get set up.
I’ll follow up later with a proper edit, but here is the mobile photo, edited with Snapseed.

@AdamFromCanada Nice photo. Where is this?

My first usable photo with the new long lens:

I hope you like the sinister feeling - at least that is what I have.

A shot from a (rare at the moment) outing with my camera, just processed in @arctic’s new film sim software after initial conversion to tif with darktable (no tonemapping).

Still very much getting to grips with the software but quite impressed!
