I had to check, given that ferries are a bit of a sore point in Scotland
Lol. Indeed. The Tasmanian government is looking for someone to lease it while they upgrade their harbour so…
Got up way too early in anticipation of heading out for a long drive yesterday morning only to be met with a fresh 4" of snow. When the highways have a chance of being difficult I typically don’t drive them unless it’s necessary…so, a change of plans was required
Took a fairly short drive out to a local creek and hiked out on the trail there and commenced with trying to find some shots. I had some other ones in mind but the overcast skies were not giving up any of the light I was thinking of utilizing.
A good portion of the trail was covered in a thick slab of ice, so it was quite the walk (should have brought spikes to wear).
Here’s some of the pics from yesterday…not too keen on the green cast on the ice, but I can have another crack at them if I decide to print them.
Oh, and one more of a bunch of robins that were hanging out in a tree…this is with my new Minolta 70-210. Had to try it out on something.
Love the third one, the shape of the foreground tree combined with the misty scene behind really give it a spooky loneliness.
I love the one of the red and gray little trees growing up together.
I’ve never seen so many robins in one place! Cool photo.
Neither had I…l thought they’d scatter if I got too close so I took the shot with a zoom lens, but when I was done I was able to walk right by the tree and they had no care about it.
In hindsight I should have tried another attempt.
Yeah, we have had that too. The new ferries between the mainland and Arran are too big to berth in Ardrossan…
Green cast is okay I guess going well with the fresh snow and overcast light giving the scene a kind of mysterious vibe. One could play with the light (bloom) and green cast to give it a ghostly appearance like radium or such, the green itself reminds me the color of absinth wish goes along the vibe
Would you consider making this a play raw image? Many - or at least me - would love to play with the subtle gradient from cold to warm and the mist rising from the water.
No problem
A stone’s throw from the Opera and Grand Magasins, on a sunny Saturday evening, the quietest place in Paris.
Yesterday I found myself somewhere that is very much outside my norm, but I knew it would be a cool looking spot so I brought my converted IR camera. A friend is in town, and a few of us met at a fancy resort restaurant to hang out and have fancy snacks and dessert. I didn’t want to seem like too much of a weirdo so as we were leaving I snapped a few shots from where we were sitting.
