[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

I am old – these are the only women who still visit me. But sometimes they bring their husbands along.

Kidding aside, I like how you managed to get the black feather details against a dark background. Assume no flash was used and the snow on the ground provided additional light.

(replying to myself - some more captures from two days ago)
2 more at the coast:

Plus a handful from a favourite pond on the way home:

I love the color-contrast of the red sail.

During our recent Hawaii sojourn, I watched folk on powered hydrofoils, kinda turns your perception of physics on its ear…

I’m curious about the fate of the sailboat in the background of the second shot.

Yeah, I wondered that too. But, most of my sailing was on a Hobie Cat, which spent much of its time in that orientation…

Yes … I found it quit a sorrowful sight. All I can surmise it that it was improperly anchored, and that the high tide was too great for the length of line used. These captures were taken just after high tide.

The sail is closer to a deep orange, I believe. Slightly translucent, the striping on the hidden side is visible as a darkening in the top 3 of the 4 segments above the window. The colour is a bit like some of the reds in some flowers, however - very intense and easy to over-expose.

Was fun until the marble size hail started. I have lumps on my head :face_with_head_bandage:

Yeah, but is your camera OK?

Someone forgot to switch on the hallway lights at the office, this morning.

So I went to a small, local park with my wide-angle lens and took a picture of this tree. I was really hoping the water wouldn’t be frozen and would be blue, but the weather just didn’t want to cooperate with me.

I channeled my inner Tuukka Rask

I thought it was monochrome at first. The exit light makes it, I reckon

It very nearly is, the walls on the left are bare concrete, on the right they’re white. I helped a little by desaturating everything except green.

One with a little bit more colour, and a nice reflection (that ice will be gone by tomorrow). Nice and poppy against an otherwise mostly grey world.

Taken on the corner of Trump Street and King Street, just down from Russia Row. Coincidence?
