Yes. I had to use Adobe’s Free DNG converter to get them into Darktable.

Car show in town yesterday. I’ve been getting better at getting there early to beat the crowds. Last year all of the cars and trucks were fed in through a main starting area, so I could just set up one composition and then take the picture when the cars came in to frame. This year all of the cars were fed in through four entries based on class, so lots of pacing up and down over 5 blocks of cars while they were pulling in.

I really like #2 & #3. I started keeping a folder of swallows-on-cables images as there is something about them I am drawn to. Not sure if it is some half forgotten nostalgic thing, or if it just how they lend themselves to very graphic comps.

For me it’s definitely the nostalgic aspect. When I was a kid (early 2000s) they were everywhere and so much more numerous. So when I saw this flock I really felt nostalgic and also sort of happy that there were so many there. Same feeling with seeing flocks of migratory birds flying overhead in their V patterns. Sadly those are rarer and rarer…

So new (to me) lens arrived yesterday. I had the “studio” set up for some big backlight goodness so threw a ~1.25" bloom from one of my wife’s orchids onto the stage. Not really the best way of showcasing the thing, but I wanted a few test shots.
In the viewfinder/screen, it looked like I got everything in focus along its ~ 1/4" depth @ f/11. On my editing monitor it was clear my eyes lied to me. So already I am looking for focus stacking software to start stacking another set of images. 
Anyway, here was a quick shot of a disappointed flower:

Ok, so after confirming that there was a slim chance of cloud and smoke obscuring the night sky last night, I went out to this spot on the river about 30 minutes north of where we’re currently staying for work. The Perseids were supposed to peak last night, and I did see many of them… They just aren’t in the frames here. And that’s fine with me. Had a great evening of shooting… Lots of challenges with lighting. The adjacent highway and train tracks, as well as the highway lamp standards, train signals and a flashing amber highway warning sign all forced these compositions in to very tight areas, respectively, given the lens (12mm wide angle).
These were all done on my laptop using dt 5.4, so I’ll have another shot at them this weekend when I can work on them on my computer at home.
Very tired right now, running on two hours of sleep.

Love your takes, they have a really nice and dense atmosphere, specially the third one with the light. But also the fourth - ah all of them
