Its quite nice, you should be proud!
@vbs Keeper: bright and cheerful.
Thank you! Very much appreciate the thoughts!
In Pitlochry, we have a shop whose proprietor sells many different whiskies, across the road from him there is a master chocolate maker. So, naturally they get together to do a whisky and chocolate tasting!
Ewan also hosts a monthly music night, where you can taste a few whiskies of course, This took place after the whisky and chocolate tasting ![]()
Aside, we were at a concert earlier in the week, where I noticed both soloists were using tablets rather than printed scores. For the pianist, the person who would have formerly turned pages now had to get up and touch the screen to advance the score.
The musicians at my church use iPads as well. I think possibly some of them are synced to automatically advance the page. When not, the keyboardists just touch a corner of the page, white the guitarists have a small foot switch to advance or go back.
As a photographer, I applaud the replacement of large music stands which are often cluttering up the field of view and destroying compositions and replacing them with much less intrusive iPads.

Someone should come up with a score reading app that not only intelligently turns the pages but casts an orange flickering light
Why turn the page when you can scroll to the tiempo!
Electronic traditionalism. Needs a synthesised page turning sound, too. Like the fake shutter sound in digicams
I was wondering that too!

Noughties computer game vibes.
I’m surprised that in 2023, they haven’t yet created an application that listens to the music played around the tablet and scroll the music sheet in sync with that.
Exactly! ![]()

I suspect they have, but I’m not up to speed. I also strongly suspect there’s software that’ll allow bandleaders, directors, conductors, etc. to change pages for the everyone simultaneously. Given a (MIDI) click track, I’m sure pages can be advanced by it.
But given that I can’t hear an F#m7M9+ from shinola, I’ve never pursued it…
A few from the Christmas market in Zürich – ‘market’ among the modern buildings in the city centre.
… and some from the old town:
Should display “404” while you rush outside to get the flour that you forgot to put on the groceries list.
