Color Temp: as shot

I’m using a Canon and a Speedlite to take a shot of a grey card. White balance is set to auto (AWB).
Exiftool reports the following:

Color Temperature : 5200
Color Temp As Shot : **6813**
Color Temp Auto : 6813
Color Temp Measured : 6813
Color Temp Kelvin : 5200
Color Temp Flash : 6711

When I open the raw file in DT, and select “as shot in camera”, I get the value 5231. Which is somehow closed to 5200, what I would expect from flash.
What I don’t understand: why is this big difference: 5231 (DT) vs. 6813 (exif)…

Color temperature isn’t one formula, and several editors implement it differently. Its just a number and it isn’t consistent.

What colour temperature is measured without flash? Could it be that the camera also saves a measurement of the scene sans flash?

It’s called the CCT (correlated color temperature) and, outside of some very specific circumstances, is largely meaningless. Different software also implements white balance differently, which leads to showing different CCT values for the exact same adjustment.

Here’s a bit more on that:
