Wow! Arch Linux is so quick. I went to see if the new release was available, and I had already upgraded to it. :grinning:

Thanks for the update.

OBS is not part of the official release. Have you tried the email address in the error message?

Not sure what you mean, I thought it was the official as it was originally installed from here:

https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=graphics:darktable&package=darktable

which was found from here:

we should probably make it clear now that the only “official” binary is the appimage. All others are community maintained.

Ok thanks
What is the best next step to get the ‘official darktable’?
Uninstall what is there and then install the appimage?
Any way just to update my current install without removing it?

Thanks
Martin

if you want the “official” package on linux, get the appimage. You can remove what is currently installed. The appimage should pick up your current settings.

Okey dokey, cheers :+1:

Thanks to all contributors !!!
Marc.

so the flatpak version from flathub is not the official version??

No, and it says as much on flathub. I am one of maintainers of the flatpak, if that makes any difference.

ok thanks

That’s “fun”. The colon in the email address isn’t accepted by all email clients, even with “graphics:darktable” in quotes.

Sorry :frowning:

No need to apologize. Just an interesting choice of email address.

Edit: and doesn’t appear to be valid…

FYI. To address this, I deleted my gpg keys. New ones downloaded when I did an update. I dont know in Ubuntu, but in fedora I use:

sudo rpm -q gpg-pubkey --qf '%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}\t%{SUMMARY}\n'

Then copy gpg keys for the darktable repo and then use them with:

sudo rpm -e gpg-pubkey-########

Thank You for the great job. It’s very appreciated.
Please, when a portable (PAF) edition of DarkTable x64 ?
Max

The source is there and anyone is free to build it or volunteer to maintain the infrastructure to produce such a version.

I was able to have a kind of portable version in Windows, located in my external HD, by copying the installed directory and launching it using a bat file in order to set the cache and config directories
