darktable 5.2.0 released

We’re proud to announce the new feature release of darktable, 5.2.0!

The github release is here: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/releases/tag/release-5.2.0.

To build from source, do not use the autogenerated tarball provided by GitHub on the release page, download our tar.xz file instead. If you’re just building for yourself without creating a package for some distribution, then using source code cloning in git is an even more convenient way.

The checksums are:

You can simply download and run the official AppImage right now, without waiting for your distribution to catch up.

When we moved to dt 5.0 I tried using the AppImage but remember having lots of issues. I also tried building dt, but there was some dependency I couldnt get (or was having issues) because my distro is based on Debian Stable. I forget exactly what the issues were.

I will try grabbing the AppImage again though!

Flatpak will run if you don’t need openCL or have nVidia.

Does the flatpak not Support OpenCL/Nvidia? I was under the impression, that my flatpak install did both?

It does. A bit of formatting to resolve the ambiguity:

DT flatpak runs perfectly with OpenCL, and with nvidia proprietary driver.

A big thanks and shout out to all developers, maintainers, (in any way) contributers, supporters and everyone involved in releasing this next charming step of a software masterpiece. Thanks so much for your never ending efforts  :sunglasses:

I think even the open source driver is okay. At least appears okay for me.

Thank you developers!

I don’t think the FOSS nVidia driver works.

Once more, I’m just very grateful to have the result of all developers’ efforts put at my disposal, Thanks a lot!
