I hope you don’t mind me asking a slightly off-topic question about the way you
present your (snapshot) end result.

You do this full screen and I am able to reproduce this by first collapsing the right panel, then the left panel, taking a snapshot, unhide the left panel, select top in history then selecting the snapshot, go full screen again by collapsing the left panel. A lot of steps that I do not see in your video.

Is this just clever video editing on your side or is there a better way to do al this. For instances: is it possible to collapse both left and right panel at the same time.

Please let me know if you don’t want this off-topic thing in this thread, I’ll remove this post.

Yes, TAB key.

I have also bound a key to create the snapshot (S) in preferences - shortcuts - modules - snapshot - take snapshot

I then do this by first selecting the first step in the history, pressing TAB, pressing “s” key, pressing TAB again to have both side menus again, activate Snapshot, press TAB again and then I have Snapshot in the window without side menus.

@s7habo
From your last video I observed (if I am not mistaken), you have the same issue, what I finally have reported here:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/issues/4820

Yeah, but I think it’s normal. The new colour has to be calculated and that takes time. You also have this delay if you lighten or darken the standard color very much. My problem is rather that chroma offset sliders are connected to the saturation slider, so you can’t change hue without increasing saturation.

You have done black & white before, but I was hoping you would do a B&W quick-edit one of these days

Don’t know if you remember from the Shades of Brown thread but I’m trying to get back into (digital) B&W after some disappointments, so this one is rather welcome.

BTW: Nice music!

Thanks @Jade_NL! I’m glad you like it.

If you have any questions or wishes for further episodes, please let me know.

I tried a few times to get my head round this “channel mixer” module but yet have to obtain good results with it
I really have to take a closer look at theses modules (color balance & channel mixer).
Thanks for the really good video !

Not sure if you are aware, but there are 2 other threads here on Pixls that deal with the channel mixer:

And this recent one:

Anyway, hope this helps.

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/

Thank you for your answer. I didn’t realize I copied the wrong column from the translator.
I tried the Denoise module, but the clouds were too smooth. I’ll post it on the forum tomorrow. Concerning the license, you necessarily need one?

Good. I’ll take a look at it.

Yes, this is important for legal security for your copyrights and that the people who want to edit the raw file have permission to do so.

The CC address I gave is just an example. You can choose one for yourself at Creative Commons. If you can’t make up your mind, the best thing to do is look at some examples in the Play Raw category and decide.

Your videos are always the best!

Color Balance is one of the modules i can’t live without.

I would be really curious to see your edit on the image of mine of you want

A terrific video, Boris. Really helped me with the color balance module. I have two questions hoping you or others could help with:

First, why does the saturation in slope have much more adjustment room, less room in power, and then very little in offset - you barely adjust saturation to have a big impact. Is there a reference somewhere that explains this?

Second question is about the color pickers. If you use the eyedropper in power, hue and pick the entire image, is it picking the average hue of the mid-tones? In your 4th edit, you pick a small sample on the tree - I don’t understand what the resulting adjustment is doing.

I looked in the manual on the eyedroppers but it wasn’t very clear to me what they do.
