Error loading sidecar in dt

I have been away from working with dt for several months, or more. I just installed darktable-5.3.0+251 with the experimental AGX tonemapper and tried it out with St. Monan’s salt pans.

I named epeeist’s sidecar _CTW4052.NEF epeeist .xmp and tried to load it into a duplicate of the raw. This is the error message I got:

Error loading file ‘H:\Pictures\darktable\darktable examples 250806\St. Monan’s salt pans_CTW4052.NEF epeeist .xmp’

In the past I have loaded a “million” sidecars using the same name format. What am I doing wrong now?

old version of agx maybe…updates broke it each time or most times…otherwise no idea…

I maybe your side car name…??

Because of your suggestion, I downloaded and installed the latest darktable windows insider program version, darktable-5.3.0+250, and installed it. That cleared up the problem. Thanks.

Thanks. I hadn’t tried producing a portable build yet, so I didn’t want to experiment with others so I just went with what I know. I’ll produce this next build the same way and perhaps @priort can prepare the portable until I get my lazy butt in gear to learn how.
