If only people could love one another the way our dogs love us… I am sure that you have so many good memories over that window of time in your lives… I hope those memories can help to ease or offset your feelings of loss… thanks for sharing…
It’s a tough thing losing a family member, two- or four-legged. We lost our disabled 13 year-old cat a couple of months ago. Not a fun thing at all. I feel your loss. She looks like she was full of life.
Thank you all for your compassion … creating this post was part of my grief journey and it helps me to have shared it.
Yes, @paperdigits, @Thomas_Do, Hannah lived a little beyond the lifespan typical range for her breed (Cavoodles are normally 12-14 years);
yes, @priort she was loving - she loved everyone; @Macchiato17, @lphilpot, @Tim,@afre - thank you for articulating your compassion with words
…and for all of you who clicked like( the heart), thank you for the comfort of your compassion. I am blessed by the support of this community.
Really sorry for your loss, Martin. These creatures that bring so much joy to you just don’t live long enough. Trust me; I feel your pain (my near 17 year old boy (cat) passed away the day after New Years).
I also feel sorry for your loss, as I was experiencing the same last year - in the beginning of March 2023, I lost a doggy, which has been following me step by step for almost 18 years, since I was sixteen.
I could say it was growing and maturing with me for such a long time, and its presence was taken for granted and for ever in my mind. Until the reality came. Hard time.
But you know, All dogs go to Heaven
Out little and faithful friends are good now and waiting to welcome us one day!
