It’s funny how this forum was just somewhere I originally came to for help with Darktable and RawTherapee, and then it gradually replaced all other sites I was using for more social interactions. It’s obviously a great place to discuss photography, which I’m fairly obsessed with, but it’s also just a really nice place to hang out because of the people.
With the rapidly changing economic conditions I’m currently facing, next year will probably be one of big challenges and change for me in my career, so this forum will be a refuge and source of support for me. I’m very thankful for that.

Regarding the development in the world, I think we are part of this world and everyone can contribute a tiny little bit to make it a better one, with less hate, more peace, tolerance and freedom.
Even tough it sometime seems hard to be optimistic, we have no choice. Giving up is no option.
I am grateful that pixls.us gives us a place where we sometimes can escape this mad world at least for a short while - even though my intention for the next year is to be a bit less active here and instead read more books again.

Ever since @patdavid came over to Google+, when that was still a thing, scraped the bottom of the barrel, and scooped up a few lumps of sludge such as myself, this has proven to be a great resource and a super community. It’s amazing to see people come here initially full of criticism, complaints and indignation, and wind up being valuable contributors. That’s a huge credit to the community.

That’s not fair. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder because I’ve ordered a new Sony A7V and 3 nice lenses for it at the beginning of December. Now all lenses are here, but I got the message, that the camera isn’t delivered before mid January. If I now think about your suggestion I’m getting even more depressed, because I always get reminded, that I will have to wait further on.
Ouchie. Christmas is all about the lead up - so you are kind of getting a bonus on the part. What lenses did you order?
