Cute shot!
Working the contrast with cbrgb and AgX; added warmth to the highlights with cbrgb for a summer evening look, darkened the greeny-yellow tones of the background with colour eq.

I like your crop! This way the composition actually works out nicely with the leaves to the left and a bit more interesting then my crop.
Glad you like it, I searched for leaving out parts of the image not contributing to the ducks and intuitively came up with this.
I worked on it before looking at anybody else’s result.
postprocessor’s remorse ![]()
What I really wanted was something more like @Terry 's result. A bit more contrast and more green in the water
Silly number of module instances for such a simple picture! 3 instances of CB-RGB. And I accidentally used AgX. I currently being a sigmoid man, but Agx just looked nicer for this.
DT 5.5 nightly. Uses AI object masking. Can people with DT 5.4 see that as drawn masks?
I don’t feel your mask translates backwards to 5.4.
also with my edit the contrast mainly came from Local Contrast module and the color from disabling color calibration and setting color temp in white balance module.

what a lovely image. Here’s my take with DT nighly of this morning. I love that reflection.
No fancy things actually. Exposure, AgX, some exposure masking. Lifted the yellows a bit and downdialed the chroma after autopicking in color calibration.
further a bit fiddling with the shadows and highlights in CBRGB
my standard denoising with two instances of profiled denoise. wavelets and nlm auto

Using the darktable 5.6 AI Denoise. I don’t think including the xmp helps anyone.
My first photo editing session with Darktable (5.6) after many years away.
