My eyes! Too much bokeh!

Continuing the discussion from [Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos:

My wife took one look at this and decided that it was worthless. I had to admit that the bokeh was probably a bit garish. I have toned it down a little, I leave it to others to decide whether it is worthless, or whether it can be improved:

I don’t know what your expectation on this photo is. Anyway a try:

The photo certainly looks …drumroll… sharp in the center!

Sorry. I’ll see myself out.

Sometimes, in very rare cases, our wives are right nevertheless.

I wish you all a happy New Year! Same procedure as every year :tiger:

Admit it, you have been talking to my wife!

I just took my camera out for this shot, I left all the rest of my kit in the car. What I should have done is gone back for a different lens and concentrated on the single drop in the centre.

Mainly G’MIC’s Dehaze. Added some additional tweaks (too many little things to outline) and voila.

Thought I would try to just isolate the main vine; hope you don’t mind the exercise.

More bokeh.

And my motivation (via a few passes of Resynthesizer).

Which lead me to a similar result like @dqpcoxeas but had to go monochrome, of course. =)

Maybe a crop that matches the diagonal makes it more interesting (Gimp 2.10.36) ?
