I dabble a little with restoring photos using gimp and Gmic. I haven’t got colourising down yet though so was pleasantly surprised when what I saw as a old greenish photo came out coloured using a film emulation preset

Looks great! You may want to check out I have a painting. How can I automatically turn it into a photo? there is lits of interesting stuff there!

Here I’ve got it maxed out over two screens in the lab. 
Installing it is quite the task!
