Day out with the camera today. Sadly the light wasn’t particularly pleasing, hence my B&W conversion of the photo I took of Amulree Church, Perthshire, Scotland.

And my take on it, processed using Darktable.

@agriggio , now that is a lovely edit.
I think I’ve frustrated myself tonight trying to get a dramatic moody image, when in actual fact a straight forward image, like yours actually looks very nice indeed!

@Brian_Innes Quaint. Good ensemble of features.
@agriggio Nice processing. Suits the subjects.

to me, the picture is suggesting calm and peace, which is what I tried to emphasize with my rendering. Maybe I’d have a different opinion if I had been there…

Very nice photo @Brian_Innes . Used GIMP 2.10.8 (Partha’s version).
I thought that the subject is a graveyard, and hence keeping empty vertical space was important.

Very nice light for me!
Gimp 2.10
… but very big problem with export as jpg, as you can see…
Edit: much better not using “save color profile” !!

@s7habo : Great work! I will have a closer look at the modules graduated density, bloom and velvia that I did not realy explore up to now.

@AxelG We learn by doing while having fun.
It also depends on your creative vision. What were you trying to do? If it matches the criteria, then you are successful.
Challenging…
